VCH: Annual Report of the Responsible Care-programme 2016

As part of the dialogue with the public, the Responsible Care Programme of the VCH allows for the industry, via its trade association, to submit an annual account to interested third parties, of the „indicators for measuring performance".

Here is an overview of the most important statements:

In May 2016, 72 companies participated in the RC-programme of the VCH.

Of the 134 operational plants covered, 51 of these locations have their own warehouse with filling operations. In these 51 operational sites with their own warehouse and filling facilities, 2,251 million tonnes of chemicals were transshipped. Here, 45 accidents occurred. This represents an accident for every 50,000 tonnes of chemicals handled in 2015.

The number of accidents at work requiring notification was 99 last year. Only 18 of the 99 had a chemical industry-specific context.

For the 24 companies who run their own vehicle fleet (in total 282 HGV), there were 47 road traffic accidents in 2015. In comparison with the total number of kilometres travelled, 15,2 million km, this corresponds to an accident every 323,000 km.

Here are the detailled information about the VCH annual report of the Responsible Care-programme.
